　　Abstract: The thesis report is an important base in the work of thesis writing. It plays the role ofpinpointing the task. This paper first discusses the importance of the thesis report and then explains howto prepare the thesis report， including how to select the issue for research， how to synthesize andsummarize the literature， putting forward the questions with hierarchy， collecting the mainstreamliterature， determining the research aim concretely but not inflexibly and so on. Finally it is thought thatholding a meeting to appraise the opening report is necessary， which can ensure the experts to help to tellthe quality of opening report and raise the level of thesis.
